Below are just a few of my favorite things from the 2011 Spring collection of one of my favorite designers Rachel Roy. Roy’s line exemplifies classic, simplistic beauty at it’s best.
The line spans from minimal and sublime hues of nude to the eclectic pairing of electric blue and cranberry. As refreshing as a mint julep the clean lines and bold colors of this line score an A+ in my book of style!
Coach has stepped up and out of the “comfort zone” that it’s known for to target a much younger and hipper audience with the Poppy C Glam line.
This line includes hobos, totes and backpacks with groovy style and embellished charm sure to win over any up- and- coming fashionista or trendsetter.
Would mom like it, probably not, but lucky for her the line does include much “calmer” colors and traditional Coach designs. Prices for the bags start around $200, but can cost as much as $500 for the larger bags, such as the gold sequins backpack.
You can find these bags at most major department stores including Macy’s.
With spring a thing of the past, make sure that you’re summer ready with looks that rule the runway for 2010!
This summer’s theme is all about comfort and confidence; neutral colors, embroidered and ruffled tops for women and cargo shirts and graphic tees for men are all the rage.
Here are just a few looks that are sure to heat up your summer!
Ask any woman and she will tell you that the quintessential characteristic of any true woman is her sex appeal. It’s no secret that those who have it, know how to work it, and that one of the easiest and most appropriate ways for a woman to show off her sex appeal is with her feet.
Since the beginning of time, women have used their feet to attract the opposite sex. During 18th century England, Casanova was rumored to have loved the way heels lifted up a woman’s hoop skirt to show off her legs. And in 19th century Asia, woman bound their feet so that they (feet) would remain small, thus making them more attractive and fitting to be a concubine. Yes ladies, we’ve certainly done more than “walking” on our feet! Three very effective and demure ways to show off your “sexy soles” daily is with toe cleavage, peep toes and the “classic” stiletto.
Toe Cleavage– We’ve all seen it, we just may not have know exactly what it was called. Toe cleavage is that little bit of toe (u shape) that tends to show through your shoes- typically this shows through in pointy toe shoes, or shoes that are a bit too big- which is, by the way the best way to wear your heels ( a ½ size larger). Toe cleave is very subtle yet still sexy and always leaves more to the imagination.
Peek-A-Boo, I see you! From Greta Garbo to Marilyn Monroe, the peep toe of yesteryear is still just as sexy and prevalent as it was back then! Today’s “pinup” girl has more styles to choose from including; the wedge, high heel and platforms peep toe. What a fun way to bring nostalgic “sexy back”!
Svelte Stilettos– Little more is needed to pull off sexy if you’re seen in stilettos. Fact of the matter is whether you’re wearing a pant suit, pencil skirt, or just a smile (wink), the effect is still the same…. SEXY! Is it getting hot in here, or is it just me!
So ladies, keep this in mind for the next time you want to flaunt a little sex appeal- just slowly walk on by and let your “heels” do the talking!
Check out a few of my favorite places to score these looks!
- For toe cleavage- My pick is Louboutin (Saks Fifth Avenue) and Like.com (BCBGeneration). Both have the best selections on shoes that will give the perfect toe cleavage.
- For peep toes- Shop DSW Shoe Store or for the retro look, try Nordstrom.
- For stilettos- Saks Fifth Avenue– Christian Louboutin is my pick, but if that’s a little “pricey” for you check out Jessica Simpson’s line available at Macy’s, very sexy!
Remember how cool the 70’s were? Bright colors, bell bottoms and oh yes- jumpsuits. Well everything old is new again, with a millennium twist, that is! All the rage this season the sleek and stylish one piece wonders look great and can be worn for a night out on the town, or a trip to the beach! Play it up or play it down- it’s all about how you accessorize!
This linen cotton romper from Kensie is light breezy and fun! Spaghetti straps and cinchable drawstring ties at the legs give this look a flirty and sexy feel that’s great for playtime at home!
Sleek, sexy and sophisticated and nothing less than what we would expect from BCBGeneration- This rayon jumpsuit couples a straight neckline and long trouser look, that can be worn with heels for the ultimate in svelte feminine form.
For a professional yet sophisticated look, why not choose this drape front, flutter sleeved one piece jumpsuit by AGB. The wide leg design gives the look and feel of flow-e-try in motion. This style gets 5 out of 5 stars for class!

Imagine having your own personal stylist that is just waiting to dress you in all of your favorite designers and at a fraction of the cost. Does this sound like a dream? Well pinch yourself because it’s now your reality- Shop It To Me does just that. Featured on Oprah and Rachael Ray, this site allows you to select your style of shoes and clothing from some of the best known designers and brands of today including: DKNY, Diane Von Furstenberg, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus and Old Navy. Here’s how it works: You select the styles, sizes and designers that you prefer, and you receive daily or weekly “Salemail” sales promotions via email featuring the designers and styles that you chose. These promotions are from various sites and department stores and are supposedly the best prices around! This is a great work around for the hustle and bustle of those ever popular “sales racks” at your favorite shopping malls and outlets.
Now I have personally been a member of this discount club for a couple of months, and can honestly tell you that I have not yet come across any really great deals as far as price breaks, but one thing that I have noticed is the styles are current if not ahead of the trend, which is always a good thing (I love to be the “Avant- garde” of styles and trends). I would highly recommend this site for anyone who loves fashion and great deals, but not so much the line at the register of your favorite department store.
