K.I.S.S (Keep it Simple and Stylish)

keep your style simple and keep it pushing!

Everyone has a bad hair day, but does everyone become famous for it? While this is typically not the case, it does hold true for celebrity milliner and accessory designer Eugenia Kim.

Hiding a haircut gone wrong with one of her own hat designs, Kim’s creation caught the eye of a Soho (NY) boutique owner who insisted on seeing more of her work- The rest as they say is history!

Kim attended the Parsons School of Design in New York, where she received formal training on millinery design, but it is her unconventional and unique approach on this original craft that has brought her the notoriety which she’s famous for.

Her creative “twist” on traditional millinery work has taken the fashion world by storm- one of her earlier original and quirky designs was even donned by America’s favorite fashionista Carrie Bradshaw” (Sarah Jessica Parker) in the original Sex and the City motion picture. Kim is largely known for using elegant fabrications (fur, ribbon and feathers) in her woven hats and also for her imaginative and edgy straw and felt trimmed fedoras.

This accomplished milliner holds a Psychology degree from Dartmouth College; is a published author (Saturday Night Hat 2006) and is the recipient of the 2004 CFDA Swarovski’s Perry Ellis Award for Accessory Design. Kim’s unique works of art can now be seen on countless celebrities including: Sarah Jessica Parker, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Cameron Diaz, Natalie Portman, and Nicole Richie.

She also remains a staple on the fashion runways for such iconic designers as Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors and Donna Karan, just to name a few.  Kim’s high end hats and accessories can be found at Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and now at Marie Claire’s #1 ranked Haute Spot to shop for fashion Bill Hallman.  For a limited time only, you can find Kim’s special edition spring collection (Kim ’96) at Target stores nationwide- Kim is the first milliner to boast such an honor! Hat’s off to Eugenia Kim, a real fashion forward trendsetter -we’re simply mad for your hats!
