K.I.S.S (Keep it Simple and Stylish)

keep your style simple and keep it pushing!

Whether you’re redecorating a room, or your entire home, Ikea has just what you’re looking for and offer it at a price that can’t be beat! Conveniently located in downtown Atlanta, and about 5 miles from the Highlands area, it’s a trip worth making. I must give you fair warning.  The first trip will be a bit overwhelming, but understandably so- the store is massive!

With wall to wall inventory of everything from beds you can build to shelves you can customize, this store has it all.  One of the ways that Ikea is able to keep their prices so low is by selling RTA or ready to assemble furniture. The goods are packed flat therefore allowing more units to be shipped out to the retailer (Ikea) at a cheaper rate.  Ikea then sells this RTA furniture at a cheaper rate to the consumer making this a win- win situation.

For those of us who are not mechanically inclined there is good news,  Ikea does carry assembled and ready to use products and accessories for literally every space in your home. And the colors- hues of bright reds, sunburst oranges, canary yellows and electric blues fill the aisles as well as your imagination as you picture those vibrant colors adding just the right accent that you  had in mind to brighten up your favorite room.

Now there are a couple of things to keep in mind while you are enjoying your shopping experience at Ikea:

  1. Tomorrow is another day, do not lose your mind and grab everything all at one time.  Take stock of what is around you, and pick up a catalog while you’re there.  Take it home and reference it while you’re painting the picture mentally of the style or theme you’re looking for.  Having the catalog handy also allows you to do the math on just how much, or shall I say little you will need to spend to accomplish this look.
  2. If you are considering purchasing RTA furniture, make sure to do your research.  While the prices are a steal, the quality of the pieces ranges from suitable for a college dorm room to great for a master bedroom.  The well-trained staff at Ikea is willing and more than able to aid you with which pieces you will need to assemble your furniture as well as which styles will best fit your needs.  As for the actual assembly, you’re on your own. I can personally tell you that putting the furniture together is a lot easier than pronouncing some of the names of the furniture I’m not Swedish, what can I say!

All in all, if you are truly a frugal fashionista, Ikea is the place for you. Guaranteed to never disappoint in the style or cost department, you’re sure to be a repeat shopper.
